JOB DESCRIPTION:  Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. 

POSITION OVERVIEW:  to support individuals with autism and similar ID/DD, by helping them achieve their social, communication, independence, vocational and employability goals within the community.​


  • Support and assist individuals with autism in leading full and productive lives
  • Assist individuals in learning the importance of social distancing, proper hygiene and wearing face coverings during and after a health crisis by:
    • Support individuals during remote classes, articles, videos, discussion, engaging with visuals and social stories
    • Encourage interaction with others while keeping appropriate recommended space (currently 6 feet)
    • Support them in using verbal or gestural greetings (like waving ‘hello’ rather than shaking hands)
    • Use positive reinforcement strategies to promote increased/independent application of social distancing and the wearing of mask/face cover, providing physical guidance if necessary to promote social distancing and toleration of face covering in the community when 6 feet distance is not possible.
  • Promote vocational, social and communication skills
  • Work with team to develop/implement service plans that support individuals in achieving their personal goals
  • Accurately document service provision, daily notes and other information as required
  • Work in partnership with the people we support to promote their overall health and safety
  • Prevent, recognize, and report abuse toward the people we support
  • Promote and support safe and responsible community involvement
  • Be prompt, organized and respectful to your co-workers, the people you support and the members of the community

  • Adhere to the organization’s Code of Ethics and perform your duties satisfactory as outlined in the Core Competencies (training provided)
  • Complete all required training and maintain confidentiality


  • 18 years of age or older
  • College experience preferred, High School completion is required
  • 2 Years previous experience in related field working with developmentally disabled individuals
  • Must be able to bend and lift items 30 lbs or less
  • Must be able to multi task and stand for the majority of the day (up to 8 hours at a time)
  • Clean and Valid driver’s license and no infractions that preclude a person from working with members of a vulnerable population

Autism /ABA: 2 years (Preferred)
Education: Associate’s Degree (Preferred)​
